Hi.The barefoot running is a new pair of running/work out shoes. Those are really light weight. Otherwise if you dont want barefoot then consider New Balance shoes.

I've had good luck with my Nike Lunarfly+ running shoes. I picked them up at finish line for $ 50, they feel very light (especially compared to my old Adidas running shoes I was using). They need little to no time to break in, I ran a 5K race the second time I had them on and was very comfortable. I also have some Vibram FF KSOs, they're a whole other beast. I wear them casually and for working out. I'm still not bad-a$ $ enough yet to run over 3 miles in them though.

First off, forget those over-priced 4 letters and the + sign, try going to your local running shop and trying on a few other makes - these might fit your feet better. There is no alternative to trying on the shoes to see if they are likely to rub badly, or if they are too heavy.

While you are in the shop ask the assistant if they are the best trainers for your running style and if you can, try a run in a few pairs on a treadmill (many shops have them) to see what they are really like.

When you have narrowed your search to 2 or 3 well fitting pairs of shoes, then look at the styling, brand name and price - you appear to be doing this all the wrong way - name first, style second and if they fit last after paying your money. Still if that works for you carry on.

Final thought - and a pet hate of mine on the internet where you have all the letters you need, learn to write correctly and spell words out properly - it really does help the rest of us read and understand what you are talking about, Thanks

You could try wearing Nike Free Run or New Balance Trail M10. I personally use them whenever I go to the gym or go running in the village. I like these shoes because they're lightweight and have great cushion support. Why don't you check them out.

I do some aerobics (high and intermediate impact), strength training, and jogging and I wear good quality running shoes (not racing shoes, but ones for people who run for pleasure/sport or training)...something with plenty of cushion and support, to help protect my back and legs...I also try to stay off the concrete (sidewalk) when I do go jogging, because it's much harder on the body than running on asphalt (or something more springy)...

Look up running shoe reviews or see the source link for some info I found useful...you could also look up cross training shoe reviews if you feel that would be more suitable...

The NIKE free run 3.0 is the lightest shoe of the well-known shoe brand NIKE. but remember also, that this is the most least cushioned shoes of NIKE. Using this shoes needs have a little careful in running, if you don't want to be injured or have a shin splint

Go to conditioners.
XC will be more fun for you bc. it's group oriented and everyone is way more encouraging than in track.
Maybe grab a friend and ask them to run too? Make sure you get some actual road running in bc. the treadmill is so much different than running on the road.
Good cross training is swimming. Give your parents an excuse to go to the pool.
Doing an ab workout at least once a week is also great. Not only is it good for your running, you get great abs to go along with it!
